Is Lin for Lincoln, NB or something like that? Is one I-140 and the other I-485?
Did some investigation into the LIN/WAC number series that was issued starting from June 1...here are the details.

I tried doing that. Convinced the employer to file a new labor for a new position, advertized again, filed a new labor under PERM, applied for a new I-140 and waited for a year for approval ... now the I-140 has been denied for A2P and is under appeal; I must confess that I have lost hope that it'll get re-opened and approved.
So all my efforts for getting a EB2 140 have failed.....what do you recommend, I start this entire process again. Even if I'm willing to bear the cost, the employer will not file yet another labor.
EB3 wait is my only way out now......

Good point, gene. Folks think that switching to EB-2 is easy enough...not really...esp. with no PP for 140...It can take years to convert in the present situation...and a lot of companies are not interested to file second labor or 140...

Case was filed on July 6th (485, 131 and 765). Not sure when it reached NSC.
I-140 approved from TSC in 2006.
No receipts and no checks cashed yet.:(

Up until July 29, 2007 (incl.) when sorting of files was going on, NSC did a load sharing of files with TSC. (and btw they did not look at where ones' I-140 is adjudicated when making the selection, it was random. I know several such cases)
This in my opinion is a very good way of making sure adjudicating resources are kept in balance at both centers.
Like somone quiet rightly pointed out it is akin to the old Labor Certification process where some states were way faster than others (less demand faster process).
In the direct filing which started July 30, 2007 the load sharing has a great possibilty of being tilted one way or the other (though maybe not as much as old LC's). They have made a geographical distribution and not one that factors # of applications traditionally received from states.
On the other hand, may be USCIS has figured that the particular geographical jurisdiction produces the right load sharing between NSC and TSC!

Just so that we are clear, please note that signing online petitions doesn't mean anything if there is no matching advocacy. Timing of the activity is also very important. In the end, advocacy and grassroots effort must compliment each other at the same time. The website you are referring is an advertisement website. Its not a resource for serious advocacy effort.
The Congress is right now focused on DREAM Act. If we just say "Erase Green card backlog", it will mean nothing. But there is a chance if we send specific targeted message asking to include specific provisions in the bill that appear to be moving (i.e. DREAM Act in this case), and IV is complimenting this message with the advocacy on the ground.
Just sending random email from some online advertisement for profit website does not mean anything. We think that some of these websites are just collecting your Email and Home Address, which they could sell for making profit.
Immigration Voice would like to request its all members not to send out random messages from advertisement websites because such messages are out of sink with reality. Please participate in the well defined and targeted 'Action Items' on IV.

Unless we all make a collective effort no one is going to listen to us. I know the fate of my post, we all will get busy to get our post noted or express our opinion which will definitely solve our problem or proving our point the that "i am right you are wrong" or get busy with "my ideas are better than yours" or "who wins the quote slamming contest".

My lawyer sent the applications on June 1st and we have the receipts already. They cashed the checks by June 6th.

looks like USCIS are giving us least priority.They may be thinking we are suppose to file a law suit when Visa are unavailable during July3 to July 16.
Dont know where they put our application?do we get any rfe or rejection?

it is very frustrating that most of the guys whi have filed between July 2nd -July 16 have been waiting either close to 90 or more than 90 days, just for the sake of the DAMN receipt notices.
I have been very patiently waiting for the past 84 days (as i filed mine on July16th) and I see that even folks who filed just during the Aug 10th period are also getting their notices and getting their FP done.
DAMN with USCIS sorting order, as those morons could not even implement a FIFO manner, if they had followed, we would have had our receipts long back.
Once again, HELL with these stupid receipting process.
Hope atleast some of you can understand the pain in the whole friggin process.
