As I have posted earlier there are other issues. Thus, this is another issue and not the whole issue.
Pursuing this issue and violations of name checking does not get us much. They can cancel some GCs issued but still not accept July AOSs.
We need to concentrate on issues that support accepting July AOSs.

What is your application PD and Category?
My priorty date is 17th Jan 2003 Eb3(2)-India.
485 filed on 31st july 2007.
I also got a lud on my I-140 on 27th of july 2008. It is an approved I-140.
Has anyone else gotten a lud on their I-140 also ?

It is good to know that there are a few willing to do something about this!
But we need more people!

Your Comment on H2B is only right about H2B and doesn't apply on EB green cards. We are people who came on H1B & our Green Cards were sponsored by US employers, we have our Labor & I-140 approved and we are waiting for Visa number assigned to our applications. So you could be comparing apples to peaches...Immigration policies had been hostile in past 12 years and will continue to be same indefinitely...Now our choice is sit back, lie low, keep watching & read Visa predictions indefinitely- may be another decade or 2- or take some steps, which I think, are not going to face much opposition. Also regarding reason behind so many Indians is, that 200K H1B between 1999 and 2002. Even if visa cap is lifted for 2 years that big hump will be crossed, it may smoothen the Visa allocations for Indians.
Some people are floating in Utopia.
Most of us are here on on the ground.
Keep watching the forums and see how many denials have been posted and we are just at the beginning stages... There are many more denials; revocations; dol audits, arrests coming.
While all this is going on; you can continue to push the envelope and try to increase EB greencards, get rid of country quota and loosen up everything.

Dear Friend,
Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. Sometimes, ppl do get carried away by their passion (height of desperation if one looks at it another angle). We have to accommodate folks that cannot have a nonchalant attitude towards Immigration. Just like health care, GC stirs up our deepest and strongest emotions. For many, GC is an all-or-nothing proposition (again let's not fret about why it might be so, because they might have their own good reasons). Regardless, i agree with you completely, civility should not be lost. We have a broken Immigration system - all i care is how to fix it.
I am becoming a donor for the following reasons -
1. It is better to be informed and be involved rather than be "out of the loop" or in the dark
2. It is not free to get anything done in the commercial capital of the planet
3. Selfish motivation - life is short. i would like to see the end of this struggle as soon as i can. personally, cannot be a mute spectator esp. when i see someone else fighting for MY cause and I being fortunate to lend a helping hand
4. Altruistic motivation - gives some meaning to life whether we get anything done or not at the end of the day. if successful, would have the satisfaction of being part of the solution - the intangible benefits of that feeling is unexplainable.
Wish us luck and my best to everyone in all their endeavors.

Just wanted to let you guyz know that i have Used "Automatic Visa Revalidation Rule" for entering US from Canada, there were Issues at all, i entered US through
Peace Bridge.
I am planning to Visit Canada again, and wanna use "AVR"
but did u land in canada for immigration purposes? with ur AOS pending iN US?

No. It is a good company and are very careful with things. I have never been in consulting. One good thing they did unlike other companies is they anticipated career growth and filed GC for a higher position and I could gladly accept promotion in my career.

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?
